Description

Dental Aesthetics, also known as Cosmetic Dentistry, covers everything that has to do with beauty, aesthetics and beautification of the teeth.

Dental Aesthetics focuses on preserving and improving the natural and physical beauty of the teeth. Centro Dental Especializado has specialists in cosmetic dentistry and smile design, backed by a laboratory equipped with the latest technology to successfully perform these treatments:

Teeth whitening

Whitening is a procedure that lightens teeth that are stained, discolored or that have darkened by a hit. It can be done in vital teeth or teeth with root canal. This can be performed in the dental office (known as office whitening) or by means of a system that the dentist gives the patient to do at home (home whitening).

The procedure is performed in the dental office and takes 30 minutes to an hour per session.

The at home method consists of a whitening kit provided by your dentist with the relevant instructions.

Resin

The resin fillings are placed as a cosmetic procedure that can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, broken, stained or that have spaces. The fillings are tooth colored and are placed on the surface of teeth. They can remove stains from coffee, tea, cigar or stains caused by medications taken during childhood; spaces in the front teeth and fractures or cracks caused by accidents. The resin fillings are also used to protect exposed tooth roots due to gingival recession and small cavities.

Because the resin is not as strong as the tooth enamel, it can eventually wear out and must be replaced. Do not put too much pressure on your resin fillings. Chewing ice, and sweets very hard can damage them.

Composite veneers and porcelain veneers

Veneers can help beautify the front teeth that have permanent stains or discoloration that can not be whitened. They can also be used to close small gaps between your front teeth or repair teeth malformation or teeth that are slightly crooked. Veneers are thin coverings, like fake nails tailored to fit you, which we cement to the tooth in a simple and easy procedure that requires 2 appointments. Veneers are usually placed without using anesthesia.

Inlays / onlays

Previously, we used amalgams to restore teeth damaged by decay. Unfortunately amalgam restorations are unsightly and ultimately not the best in relation to cost-benefit.

Amalgam restorations expand over time and the metal fatigues and fails, losing the seal and allowing the decay to develop in the tooth. Amalgams also fracture over time, destroying the seal and allowing cavities to develop. They also weaken the tooth and make it more vulnerable to breakage; fractured tooth usually require a crown. The amalgam also gives a dark gray color in your teeth and gums. Fortunately, we have a more healthy and attractive option called inlaid resin.
